Tour de Babel

Tour de Babel is an installation for the Centre Franco-Omanais (CFO) in Muscat, Oman on the occasion of the month of francophonie and the celebration of international peotry in March 2014. The tower consist of 700 boxes of 150x200x300 mm made specifically for the event. All 700 language students of the CFO took one box home and wrote a poem on it. The boxes were then assembled to for the Tour de Babel - literally built with poems written in more than 30 languages.

The tower formed the backdrop for a week long recitation of poetry and literature. Special thanks to Guilhem Constans, director du Centre Franco Omanais and Amandine Diogo assistante.

Warsaw Rotunda

Warsaw Rotunda is a renovation and a tactical urban space project at once. The design takes an existing building, strips its facade and turns its inner space into an observation platform. The reversal of a closed hermetic space into an open public lantern reclaims a central place in Warsaw for the public.

Realstadt Exhibition

New Bowkunde TU Delft model featured at Realstadt Exhibition in Tresor Berlin. Fuse-deposit cnc model in acrylic resin. Dimensions 32 cm diameter, 2,5 cm height.

New Bouwkunde

New Bouwkunde is a radical design for a new school of architecture at Technical University of Delft. The program called for more than 2000 spaces. These were organized algorithmically and optimized for spatial efficiency. Study, project and research within a school of architecture are normally shaped by an intimate relationship of scholars and students within a tight educational community. Not at Delft where the sheer number of more than 5000 students of architecture outgrow any sense of personal scale.

Bab Al Bahrain

Bab Al Bahrain examines how a politically charged square in Bahrain can become a public space. Several devices are installed on the square to record activities and to engage the public in the production of the public space: Sous les pavés de Bahrain, la plage!

DMY 2010 Berlin

The 'Evolving Monument' is proposal to catalogue the objects developed during the Open Design Laboratory. As a process, this display system will grow, change, disrupt and/or project the input of all participants during this 5-day event. This public effort aims to form the workshop’s institutional memory while serving as a generative exercise in digital fabrication for public learning and collaboration. Updating Semper

This seminar geared at fashion design students combined critique of style theory with tectonic design experimentation. Reversing Gottfried Semper’s style argument wherein fashion holds tectonic principles (Bekleidungstheory), architectural theory and structural evaluation are put to use to describe style in fashion design.
